Overview
A splayed angled face cut with a single sharp V-groove — the Splayed V Groove Cover combines a modern chamfered geometry with a precise linear detail, sitting cleanly over the existing skirting line. Rebated at the back for a flush fit across standard skirting depths, machined from moisture-resistant MDF, and factory primed with paint-ready definition across the cut.

A natural choice for architect-led residential refurbishments, boutique hotel rooms, and new-build retrofits where the lower wall should carry a single deliberate detail. Fix in place with grip adhesive, fill the top edge, decorate to match the rest of the trim — no stripping out, no plaster repair, no waste in the skip. A modern articulated profile in place by tea time. FSC® certified, Epsom, Surrey workshop. 5–7 working day delivery.

Cost-Effective

Generally cheaper than solid hardwood or pine, allowing for budget-friendly renovations.

Smooth Finish & Easy to Paint

Because MDF is a consistent, man-made material without knots or natural defects, it offers a superior surface for painting, resulting in a cleaner, more consistent finish.

Durable and Stable

MDF is dense and less prone to warping, twisting, or bowing over time compared to natural wood, ensuring a straight finish.

Moisture Resistant

All MR Mouldings stock is supplied in moisture-resistant grade MDF, ideal for kitchens, bathrooms and utility rooms.

Got a question?

Frequently Asked Questions

What are your mouldings made from?

Every MR Mouldings profile is machined from premium MDF — a stable, paint-ready engineered timber. MDF holds detail cleanly, won't split or warp like softwood, and finishes to a glass-smooth surface once primed.

Are your products FSC® certified?

Yes. All MR Mouldings MDF is FSC® certified, sourced from responsibly managed forests. Certification documents are available on request for trade and architectural specifiers.

How long does delivery take?

UK mainland orders typically dispatch within 2 working days and arrive 2–4 working days after that. You'll get tracking the moment your order leaves us.

Larger orders and bespoke profiles may take a little longer — we'll always confirm a lead time at checkout.

Do you offer fire-rated mouldings?

Yes. Where required, we supply Euroclass B-rated MDF mouldings suitable for HMOs, communal areas and other regulated environments. Look for the fire-rated badge on the relevant product pages, or contact us for a project quote.

What's your returns policy?

You can return unused, undamaged mouldings within 30 days for a full refund. Bespoke and cut-to-order items are made specifically for your project so cannot be returned unless faulty. Full terms are on our returns page.

How should I store the mouldings before fitting?

Let your mouldings acclimatise flat in the room they'll be fitted in for at least 48 hours before installation. Keep them off bare concrete or damp floors and away from direct radiators.

Do they come pre-primed and ready to paint?

Every profile arrives factory-primed and sanded so you can move straight to a top coat. A light scuff with fine-grit paper between coats gives the smoothest finish — most customers get a wall-ready result in two coats.
